Grounds Maintenance MISSION STATEMENT: To provide excellent service for the beauty and use of the MSU campus
It is the function
of this department to provide the following services in support
of overall University operations:
Maintain all horticultural materials such as
turf, trees, evergreens, shrubs, vines, ground covers and flowering
materials, including litter and debris control in all out door
areas.
Provide woody plant specimens from its nursery
and greenhouse support for plant materials used in Beal Botanical
Garden and the planned campus.
Maintain outdoor athletic areas for varsity
and intramural sports as well as indoor arenas in Jenison Fieldhouse,
IM West Building and Breslin Student Events Center.
Maintain roads, bridges, walks, terraces and
ornamental pools during all seasons.
Maintain directional traffic and informational
signs.
Execute site construction work at new buildings
and for other campus improvements.
Maintain Forest Akers East & West Golf
Courses (36 holes).
Maintain operation and service equipment used in grounds
maintenance operations.
